Taken at twilight almost in complete darkness, the last rays of light in the sky, were later digitally enhanced, making this image into a real firecracker! The rich warm tones from the sky reflect on everything below, the sea, sand and rocky shoreline, the waves lightened up a little to help make the image sparkle.
This is Marsden Bay, South Shields, in the North East of England, where you will find Marsden Rock, The Grotto (a restaurant and pub built into the caves at the base of the cliffs) and home to one of Britain’s largest seabird breeding colonies.
